268 Challenge

The 268 challenge is based on Isaiah 26:8 – Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited for You; The desire of our soul is for Your name and for the remembrance of You. The “desire” of our soul is for your name. We long for Him, to remember Him and all that He has promised.

Here’s how we do it.

Journal everything.

Read the selected passage.

Pick out a word that stands out to you and think about its meaning.

Later in the day, read the passage again and think about it.

Define your word. What does the word that you picked out mean and how does it pertain to this passage. (don’t use Wikipedia)

Again, come back to this a third time in your day, typically after dinner.

Read the passage.

Think about your definition of that same word.

Think, What does it mean for me?

Ask, “How does it apply to my life right now?” “How can I practice this right now?”=

He is some of my personal progress with the challenge.

268 Challenge – Day 12

1 Thess. 5:16-18 – Rejoice evermore, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Words to remember –
Rejoice – cheerfully or exceedingly glad
Evermore – at all times
Pray (without ceasing) – without intermission, unceasingly
All (In all things give thanks) – All means all – The good, the bad and the ugly.

Lots of words that suggest a continuous action.
At all times, without ceasing, in all things.

Always rejoice
Always Pray
Always Give Thanks
Don’t stop rejoicing
Don’t stop praying
Don’t stop giving thanks to God. Why?
For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
