10. The Book of Romans

Sin promises satisfaction. Sin promises an escape from punishment. It claims a good excuse. But all of that is a lie. Paul said in Romans 7, For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me. Sin digs in and takes root and is comfortable in you and tells you that God’s moral law is bad and that God is trying to manipulate you and man is deceived. Sin used the law and caused rebellion. This is why Jesus said, You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free – John 8:32
